Introduction

Set, Sutekh, Setesh all Kemetic variants of his name, but never use Seth. He is the God of Storms, the Desert (or Deshret), Chaos, Foreigners, and War. Brother to Usir, Heru-Wer, Iset, and husband to Nebthet. He is a Predynastic Deity (6000 BCE - 3100 BCE), spanning centuries, all the way up to the Late Period of Egypt, and was originally the Ruler of Upper Egypt.

Festivals:

Akhet

Month One: Starts on the day of the rising of Sopdet in the season of Akhet.

  • Set’s Birthday

    • Wep Ronpet was celebrated when the star Sopdet (Sirius) rises in the night sky. When the Nile Flooded, and marking the beginning of the new year. This is actually different for everyone, depending on where you are living at the time of celebrating.

    • Here is a free site to calculate Sopdet for you: http://www.culturediff.org/english/clientareatest1.php Follow the directions, and you’ll have to Google the latitude of your city. Once calculated, you can then set Set’s date depending on the date given.

    • For an example: if Sopdet rises on August 5th, 2022, you’ll start Usir’s birthday on July 31st, Heru-Wer’s will follow that, and then Set’s (in this case would be August 2nd), Iset’s and Nebthet’s. August 5th will be Wep Ronpet.

  • August 13th: Day of battle between Heru and Set

  • August 14th: Day of Peace between Heru and Set

  • The 30th day in each month is Sacred to Set. RIP February…

Month Three:

  • October 9th: Ra judges the dispute of Heru & Set

  • October 12th: The Red Land (Deshret) is given to Set

Peret

Month One:

  • December 18th: Set goes Forth

Month Three:

  • March 2nd: Going forth of Set

Month Four:

March 25th: Festival of Set

Amber started her Kemetic journey back in 2016 when Iset came to her in a dream. A few months later, Set entered her life, and the rest is pretty much history.
